I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I'm afraid it's Monday again - so what better way to cheer up the beginning of the week than with an eye-watering clash of florals??
This outfit was worn to work with more than a touch of trepidation - and yet it didn't raise a single comment. Not that I'm looking for comments, least of all compliments, but the fact that it went (in theory) unnoticed means that a) I'm losing my touch, b) nothing surprises my colleagues anymore, or c) they were blinded into silence. Maybe a little bit of all three...?! I actually think the two prints work beautifully together - all the colours complement each other perfectly, and I love the combination of large and small floral prints.
On Wednesday I'll be posting my fourth and final M&S Style Blogger Challenge outfit, then next week the overall winner is announced - I'm so excited! Thank you for all the lovely comments and support, I really appreciate them all :)

Blinded into silence? I think not they were too impressed for words! Floral explosion is just what I needed today. Thanks!

Haha thank you, Nicole!!! xo
DeleteThis has got to be my all time favorite outfit of yours! You look fabulous in those gorgeous flower patterns! I'm inspired to look for a flower patterned top for my red-green trousers that I hardly ever wear. Just what I need on a dark and wet Autumn Monday, thank you Catherine!
ReplyDeleteLooove this! I agree with the comment above - this is hands down my favorite outfit of yours, ever. And I love that you wore it to work - I think that means you work in the coolest office ever :)
ReplyDeleteOh Stacey, I don't, I reeeeeeeeeeeally don't...!!! The girls are great, it's just when I think of the office itself.... probably the most uninspiring environment I've ever worked in. Maybe that's why I started blogging, to be inspired more on a daily basis? It's a thought! Thanks hun xoxo
DeleteI am really enjoying a patterned pants phase right now. I haven't yet tried a patterned top with them; but you have inspired me to do so! You look really great!
ReplyDeleteI love this combo!! That floral shirt is gorgeous and it looks great teamed with the bolder floral print. Love the shoes you have chosen, they are unexpected and work really well and your hair also looks lovely. You have a great way of mixing classic and chic proportions with such eye catching colours and prints! :)
ReplyDeleteTake care,

I love when people mix prints and florals. I feel like this would look insane on me, but I love it on others. Those jeans are super cute and I love that the blue in the blouse brings out the colors in the pants. And I love the 3rd reason of why your coworkers didn't comment. LOL. Hope you had a great weekend! <3

I think I surprised myself with how well they went together, Toni!! Thanks sweetie for stopping by xoxo
DeleteI LOVE FLOWER EXPLOSIONS, AND YOU DO IT SO WELL, my dear Catherine.

Beautiful and colorful. You look great :-)
ReplyDeleteYou totally make this work. Kind of a miracle given the loudness and brightness of both patterns. Kudos for taking pattern mixing to an all together higher level.

My first reaction was (c), but then it grew on me and I liked it more each time I looked again. Good on you for feeling trepidation but going ahead anyway!
ReplyDeleteThe best part for me is how AMAZING your hair looks against that blue shirt, just perfect :)
Mmmmm the red hair against blue was what sold the shirt to me when I tried it on, Jess...! Thanks hun :))
DeleteTotally following you now as I am really liking your unique style.
ReplyDeleteThis is floral explosion but TOTALLY works! Awesome job.

DeleteI think these two prints were made for each other. As both a fan of mixing prints and of florals, this is inspiring. Two thumbs way up on this outfit! Love every detail!

This is medicinal- I love the floral explosion! You look amazing in those skinny skinny jeans and the top I can see so many ways to style it!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I love it!!! This outfit is so beautiful on you. I am laughing at your coworkers' non-reaction - I rock some outlandish getups and once in a while it can freak me out a bit when no one says a word - sometimes for days or weeks - speechless, indeed! I look upon it as a challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, I luuuuuve this floral combustion :) Im gonna copy the pamts if I may? Off to order on ASOS :)
ReplyDeleteI love this so very much. It has the distinct quality of being bold, modern, and yet sophisticated! I seriously don't know how you do it! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteMinda

Love the pattern mixing!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this outfit! I'm still searching for the perfect pair of printed jeans but all the ones I've tried on so far are low rise. Anyway, I love how you've styled yours with the print blouse. The colors are so vibrant and fun! I hope it's ok if I add your photo to one of my Pinterest boards.
ReplyDeleteFloral fabulosity!
ReplyDeleteFUN.
