This is my first outfit post since my blog makeover yesterday, and I'm beyond excited about its new look - can you tell by the way I'm twirling about...?!! Regular readers may have noticed that my pictures are much bigger (which is the main thing I'm excited about); I'd like to champion older bloggers posting bigger, bolder pictures and not hide the ageing process... I say that now - maybe I'll change my mind by the time I hit the next milestone birthday!
Right, onto the outfit: I've been sporting summer dresses on most of the (very few) hot sunny days we've had in Blighty this summer. This stripey blue one is an old favourite, but it does require something worn underneath to make it a little less, er, boobyfied [have I invented a word or does anyone else say that?] as the neckline is cut very low, and I think the panama hat I got for my birthday goes with it perfectly.
Alright Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up ;)

Dress: Very.co.uk (old), Tank: F+F at Tesco, Panama hat: Tumi Crafts @ Amazon, Bag: Next, Wedges: Faith (old), Sunglasses: ASOS, Bracelets: Debenhams / F+F at Tesco, Watch: Gift, Rings: Boots / H&M, Nails: Nails Inc Bluebell, Toenails: Barry M Neon Yellow

The blog looks awesome , love the new look!!!! Welcome back ! Love the blue dress such a pretty color on you!
ReplyDeleteLove the new blog makeover! I'm in the process of giving mine a facelift, just trying to figure if I can do it myself or enlist professional help :) Loving the dress, too!!
ReplyDeletebrenna
Thanks Brenna - I did it myself, but it took me a lonnnnnnnnng time. And it was a little stressful to say the least! At least paying someone does take the stress away...! x
Deleteyou look amazing in that dress! love blue and red together!

Love this summer dress- gorgeous on you! I've come to think casual resses are the perfect option for warm days... but they're so hard to find!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the blog makeover- love the bigger pictures- but did the font get smaller? I'm having a harder time reading. (But it could be my waning eyesight.)
Thanks SE - but no, the font isn't smaller! Maybe it seems that way because the pictures are bigger...?!! Heehee ;)
DeleteGreat dress and I love the matching nail polish!
ReplyDeleteYou look picture perfect! About those close ups... so... I will only post them if the sun has washed out the fine lines and pores. The ones that show my nagging age spot are discarded. :-D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the fab redesign Catherine!! You're gorgeous in that twirly dress!!

Bold, bright, beautiful! Found you at Not Dead Yet Style.
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so lovely! It's so feminine without being overly romantic - just the way I like it!
ReplyDeleteBoth blog and outfit look fantastic - you've done a fantastic job on the design, and as stripes and sundresses are two huge weaknesses of mine, I really love this dress: made for twirling, I think!
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd like the dress, Amber... I know you have the similar one from ASOS (featured in my widgets at the bottom of the post)!!! When I saw yours I was determinded to get at least one wear out of mine this summer - and so far it's been one wear only! Thanks hun xoxo
DeleteHi! Jumped to you from Monday Mingle. This dress is gorgeous! I love the color!

I love this outfit and your blog makeover. Very lovely...all of it.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog! Super cute! Love the dress!
ReplyDeleteHey! I found you through your comment on Sarah Hulbert's blog. I love this blog and this dress! I too have de-boobified dresses with fun, colorful tanks. I think the pop of color really adds to the outfit.
ReplyDeleteI made my photos bigger too a few months ago and it was scary at first, but I'm happy with it. Your pix look great!
Gorgeous big photos, Catherine - your birthday hat is incredibly becoming, and I love the multi-directional stripes of the dress. In my next post, I also layer a tank to be less ... hmm ... boobular! I went monochrome, but I like how the pink adds depth to your outfit. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous lady! Love the look darling!

I love this striped dress and great pairing with the fedora. And the concept of wearing a tank under for a pop of color is genius.

Yay!!! Congrats on your lovely makeover! It looks so crisp and chic. Though, I have to say, I'm going to miss the cute little schoolgirl Catherine. She was a doll. But this is very sophisticated and I love how clean it looks.
ReplyDeleteAs for this outfit -the hat, the bag, your hair... I'm afraid I'm coveting it all!!! And your photography, as always, is professional grade.
More congratulations, Catherine! Keep up the great work!!! ~Sarah
Awww it was a bit sad not to have her there anymore, Sarah (it's my favourite picture of me as a nipper ;) But I'm so pleased you like the makeover! xo
DeleteWhat a gorgeous dress! Love it with the bright tank and bag! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is cute. I love that you are twirling for your blog makeover, but are sure it wasn't because that dress was so fun?! Either was, cute shoot.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so pretty for summer time! And I didn't even notice that the red tank wasn't a part of the dress originally, until I read what you wrote--it goes perfectly!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the link up...
ReplyDeleteThat dress is amazing. I love everything about it. You look like a superstar!

ReplyDeleteSuper photos and such a great look. Love the new blog design also! I still like to know. Do you take any of these pictures yourself or do you have someone taking them for you?
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't reply, Sylvia - I wrote that my husband takes all my pictures in the post... I assumed you saw it! However it is a collaboration as I describe myself as the artistic director ;) He's so good, he takes all pictures in all the angles, camera settings etc. I tell him to take. His photos get better all the time, though it does frustrate me that I'm not behind the lens myself!! xo
DeleteBeautiful dress and hat combination. Very summer vacation-y relaxed feeling.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun, cheerful look!
